For those that have been waiting for a concrete answer as to whether or not Grand Theft Auto V will grace the Wii U with its presence, your wait is now over: it's not. Rockstar Games released the following statement in regard to the platforms that GTAV will be available for:
“The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 which are set for a September 17th worldwide release. We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now.”It seems like the Wii U just can't catch a break these days with third-party support. No doubt Grand Theft Auto V would have been a welcome addition to the Wii U library for the core crowd. Hopefully once solid, first-party content arrives for the platform this Fall/Winter, sales will accumulate, and some developers may see less risk in bringing their content to Wii U.
